In an interview with Inquirer Entertainment, Taylor Swift shared that she became interested in performing arts even before she started pursuing music. From childhood, she participated in theatrical productions. At the age of 11, she won a local talent competition for her performance of LeAnn Rimes’ song “Big Deal”, and as a prize, she got the opportunity to open for Charlie Daniels, which marked her first encounter with the country music scene.
